UPJ - Clark Strausser Student Resource Fund
For most Pitt-Johnstown students, a job is how they cover basic necessities: groceries, rent, and transportation. Following a global pandemic, the workforce is recovering. Many students have suffered a decrease in hours or lost a job. With this happening, students have lost the wages they were counting on. These students are at greater risk of dropping out when faced with a crisis. The Student Resource Fund was started by Pitt-Johnstown professor emeritus, long-time friend and donor, Clark Strausser, to help students facing unexpected costs and short-term emergencies, such as the sudden loss of a part-time job. Now more than ever, our students are requesting help due to housing displacement, the loss of a job, food insecurity and technology needs. Gifts to the Student Resource Fund will be used to defray the unexpected and increased financial hardships so they can keep learning.
