Black Action Society
The Black Action Society (BAS) of the University of
Pittsburgh is committed to addressing the needs, concerns, and interests of
Black students on and off campus. Established in May 1968, BAS has a long
history of community involvement, service, and activism. We are not just a
university organization; we are a part of the greater American society.
The donations from the Pitt Day of Giving 2024 campaign
will help BAS be able to provide better experiences for their Black students.
With these donations, we will be able to ensure that the Black students on this
campus are getting what they deserve out of their college experience. This is
through a number of things; events that promote safe spaces, speakers that
uplift black voices, service projects that help the Black community of the
city. Pitt Day of Giving gives BAS the platform needed to make the quality of
life better for Black people at the University of Pittsburgh.
