Catholic Newman Club

The Catholic Newman Club at the University of Pittsburgh is a vibrant ministry dedicated to fostering a deep love for God and a strong Catholic community among Pitt students. Administered by the Pittsburgh Oratory, our mission is to be a beacon of light, guiding students to grow in faith, virtue, and devotion amidst the challenges of college life. Through daily Masses, times for Confession, and Perpetual Adoration, we create an environment where students can encounter Christ and build lifelong friendships rooted in faith.

Donations from Pitt Day of Giving 2025 will directly support our ministry’s ability to host retreats, service events, and enriching community gatherings like our Friday dinners, Sunday pizza nights, and special outings—including ski trips, barn dances, and Penguins games. One major initiative that we have been investing our funds into has been an effort to reach out to freshmen and new students through upperclassmen taking them to some food or coffee for one-on-one real conversations. These have proven time and time again to bring the most amount of men and women to Christ through our club. These all help strengthen our community, encourage vocations, and provide students with a refuge of faith against the secular pressures of campus life. By supporting the Newman Club, you are investing in the spiritual formation of young Catholics, ensuring that they continue to grow in their devotion to God and service to others.
