What will my donation be used for?
We need YOUR help to strengthen and expand our
undergraduate and graduate programs. We’re thrilled to share several exciting new
initiatives and invite you to contribute to one or more of these meaningful
efforts:
David M. Hercules Memorial Fund
This fund honors the legacy of Prof. David M. Hercules, a former Professor
and Chair of the department, who passed away on January 24, 2024. Established
by his colleagues, this fund supports advancing analytical chemistry in the
Department of Chemistry and carrying forward David’s remarkable impact at the
University of Pittsburgh.
Chemistry Department Undergraduate Graduation Fund
Endowed by Prof. George C. Bandik, a dedicated faculty member and long-time
faculty advisor of the ACS student affiliate, this fund celebrates the
achievements of our undergraduate students.
Chemistry Graduate Student Research Excellence Award
This newly created award recognizes outstanding research accomplishments by
our graduate students. Your support can help establish additional named awards,
providing even greater opportunities to celebrate their achievements.
Chemistry Graduate Student Service Award
This award highlights the exceptional citizenship and contributions of our
graduate students. Currently, one award is supported by the Sean M. Conroy
Graduate Student Support Fund. With your help, we can enhance this award or
establish additional named awards to recognize our students’ service.
Chemistry Annual Giving Fund – This versatile fund supports a range of
initiatives that benefit the Department of Chemistry. Over the past year, it
has been instrumental in supporting undergraduate summer research
opportunities, facilitating faculty engagement activities, and recognizing the
achievements of our graduate students.
Thank you!
Your generosity can leave a lasting impact on the future of Chemistry at Pitt. Together, we can honor our rich legacy, celebrate our current achievements, and invest in the next generation of scientific leaders.
