Child Welfare Education & Research Programs
For three decades, we have enhanced the child welfare
workforce by providing professional education through the CWEB and CWEL
programs to more than 3,000 graduates. Our Child Welfare Resource Center provides
training, technical assistance, and organizational support to the public child
welfare system throughout Pennsylvania. Our efforts are devoted to
enhancing the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families. We have a long history of collaborating with parents and youth with
lived experience to enhance system change. We support and help prepare youth who have
been involved in the child welfare system to further their education and
develop leadership skills to create positive change. We aim to intensify our focus on parents to
increase the opportunities for meaningful partnerships between parents and child
welfare professionals. This work will
help build the foundation to create a parent group in Pennsylvania so that their
lived experience voices and
expertise are heard and become a driver for change.
Gifts on this day will support the
greatest needs in our area including, but not limited to, concrete support to
promote success in college among youth previously involved in the foster care
system, promoting a pathway to child
welfare education among first-generation students transferring from community
college, and efforts to enhance parent voice and engagement in child welfare
system change.
