Days for Girls
Pitt's chapter of Days for Girls has one mission that
it will accomplish at any cost: promote and provide menstrual equity for all!
Two-thirds of low-income women reported not being able to buy menstrual
products at some point in the last year. Our devoted members aim to end period
poverty by advocating for education related to menstrual health and creating
components of reusable menstrual kits, which are sent to menstruators around
the world who cannot afford period products. Products in these kits include
menstrual pad guards with replaceable liners, soap, washcloths, and underwear.
Reducing the stigma surrounding menstruation and providing menstruators with
the tools to manage their periods keeps them from missing school, work, and
other parts of their daily lives. Through the work of our club and our parent
organization, Days for Girls International, menstruators around the world will
be able to reclaim their days uninhibited by the burden of period poverty and
stigmatization!
Due to high demand and output of menstrual kits, our
organization constantly needs new sewing supplies and fabric, which tend to be
expensive. Donations to our organization will go directly to paying for these
supplies, and the more supplies we can purchase, the more menstrual kits we can
create, increasing our contribution to global menstrual equity. Please consider
donating to Days for Girls in order to provide all menstruators with the period
products they need to manage their periods with dignity and without missing out
on their lives! Any amount can contribute to this crucial mission; we thank you
for your generosity!
