Dean G. Alec Stewart Student Resource Fund

We are pleased to share that the Frederick Honors College Dean’s Office is now officially named the G. Alec Stewart Dean’s Suite.

This naming was made possible through the establishment of the Dean G. Alec Stewart Student Resource Fund which was funded through a generous gift from FHC Board of Visitors Chair Guy Molinari (A&S ’83). Guy’s gift enables us to pay tribute to the beloved founding Dean of the Honors College, G. Alec “Doc” Stewart, and honor his legacy by providing funding to students to partake in life-changing experiences.

Alec was a legendary figure in the field of Honors – one of the foremost innovators of the concept of Honors education who pioneered the approach of connecting the interdisciplinarity, community and mentorship of a liberal arts education with the breadth of opportunity and dynamism of a public research university. Alec was also one of the most beloved and influential leaders in the history of our University. During my time here, I have been humbled and moved to learn about the depth and profundity of his impact on the lives of the many, many students he worked with.

Thank you for considering a gift to support this new fund in honor of Doc Stewart.

Sincerely,

Nicola
