Italian Club
The Italian Club at the University of Pittsburgh was established in 1913. It was founded as a club where people could learn about Italian culture and language, make lifelong friendships and connections, and create long-term memories. Membership in this organization is not only open to Italian, Italian-Americans, students of Italian language and culture, but also Italophiles. Students of this organization have parents, relatives, and mentors who were also members of this organizations during their own time at Pitt. On-going activities include: peer tutoring, Italian conversation sessions, lectures, movie nights, celebrations of holidays and cultural festivals, and opportunities to collaborate with Italian Department faculty. Other activities include trips to local restaurants, festivals, and events. Membership in this organization has given members opportunities for graduate study, Study Abroad, internships, and lifelong appreciation of the language and culture. In 2018, the Pitt Italian Club was one of only 15 Italian clubs from universities all over the US that was accepted to the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Leadership Council as part of its campus program. We are always actively recruiting members with outreach activities, and would like to increase our membership especially with the emphasis on the global community and our role in it. Monies collected from the Pitt Day of Giving 2025 will be used to further the activities of the Italian Club while promoting Italian language and culture. If you have memories of your own membership in the Pitt Italian Club, are an Italophile, or would like to help promote this organization and its activities, please consider donating. GRAZIE E FORZA ITALIA!
