Pitt Men's Club Lacrosse

Our Team

The Pitt Panthers Men's Lacrosse team has started the 2025 season with big expectations. The season looks bright for the Panthers already as we look to head back to the Atlantic Lacrosse Conference (ALC) playoffs and defend the Battle of I-76 Trophy. We head into March with 3 of our biggest games still ahead of us: matchups with conference rivals James Madison, Temple, and West Virginia.

Our Project

Being a part of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) and the ALC is expensive. We play 13 regular season games this spring, and 6 of them require us to take long road trips. We do not receive athletic funding from the University, so we need to cover most of these costs ourselves. These costs include league dues, referees, shot clocks, equipment, buses, hotel rooms, and more. Without the support of our loyal fanbase, community, and alumni, we are incapable of covering this on our own. We sincerely appreciate any donation that you are willing to give, which will go towards the costs detailed. Even if you are unable to donate at this time, sharing this page with your networks is an immediate way to show your support.

Where Your Donation Goes

1. Regular Season Road Trips (Bloomington, Harrisonburg, Boston, Morgantown)

* Our regular season includes 4 road trips, starting with a trip to Bloomington on February 22nd to play Indiana and Purdue. On March 14th, we’ll travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia to play James Madison. Our biggest trip will be on April 4th to Boston, where we’ll play Boston College and Northeastern. We’ll finish our regular season driving to Morgantown on April 16th to play West Virginia.

* Costs of these trips combined will be $25,000 for the buses, hotel rooms, food, etc.

2. ALC Playoffs (Lynchburg, Virginia)

* One of our biggest goals as a team is to return to the ALC Playoffs this year after making it to the semifinals in 2022. This will take place on April 26th and 27th in Lynchburg, Virginia.

* Costs for this trip will be $9,000 for a bus, 1-2 nights in a hotel, food, etc.

3. MCLA National Championship (Round Rock, Texas)

* Another goal of ours is to compete for an MCLA National Championship. This is a single elimination tournament between the best 16 teams in the country from May 5th to May 10th in Round Rock, Texas.

* Costs for this trip would include round trip plane tickets for about 35 players and coaches, 3-5 nights in a hotel, food, etc.

Pitt Men’s Lacrosse could not function without your thoughtful gifts. This Pitt Day of Giving will help us tremendously throughout our 2025 season, and we cannot thank you enough for your support. These benefits give our 35 student athletes the rare opportunity to play competitive lacrosse while also pursuing a great education at Pitt. Throughout our season, we will always be grateful for your generous gifts as we compete for a conference and national championship. Thank you and Hail to Pitt!
