The Pitt-Greensburg Habitat for Humanity campus chapter is celebrating its 20th alternative spring break trip this year. Since 2005 when the group first traveled to Walton County, Florida, the campus chapter has completed annual trips every year since then. We've worked on simple, decent, affordable housing projects in 9 different states. This year, we will travel as far west as we've ever been - to Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Our annual trip involves travel expenses ranging from an Enterprise van rental to gas to fuel our 12-passenger vans throughout the trip. Additionally, our costs will include food to feed 20 people for a week. And while our host affiliate will provide lodging at a local church during the work week, we will encounter a few hotel stays while traveling to and from Arkansas. It's not uncommon that a trip of this nature will cost us around $10,000. Our students will spend the week working on construction projects with our host affiliate, Arkansas Valley Habitat for Humanity.
