Pitt Rowing Club

The Pitt Rowing Club (or more fondly known as Pitt Crew) is dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing through teamwork, competition, and good sportsmanship. Our mission is to endorse the tradition of strength, honor, power, and speed that we have proudly upheld since 1988. Pitt Rowing, as a proud part of the Pitt community, is also committed to furthering goals of health and physical activity within a positive atmosphere. As a team, we strive to create an inclusive environment where athletes can thrive.

As a club team, the majority of the responsibility to meet financial requirements rests with the team members and our fundraising efforts. Fundraising is vital to keeping our team running smoothly and helps to alleviate costs for individual team members. With every regatta Pitt Crew races at comes entry and competition fees the team must pay. This includes Head of the Ohio, Head of the Schuylkill, Head of the Occoquan, The Knecht Cup Regatta, Dad Vail Regatta, and ACRA Nationals. Attending competitions naturally requires the team handle transportation costs for our members and equipment. For the club to fully operate it requires fierce attention to the upkeep and quality of our boats. Upkeep can range anywhere from replacing something as small as a nut and bolt, to repairing the entire hull of the boat. Without the help of fundraising, these costs would make rowing inaccessible. By keeping membership dues manageable and supplementing with fundraised money, we allow more students to have the opportunity to experience rowing.

As with years past, when you use our page to generously donate on Pitt Day of Giving, the funds go directly to Pitt Rowing. We would greatly appreciate your consideration in joining our cause to keep Pitt Crew competing. Any and all donations will go a long way in helping our team train and race at the highest level. Your donations are what keep the team afloat, allowing us to focus on the sport that we love! You make the 6am practices worth it.
