Pittsburgh Electric Propulsion
PEP is a student-led electric vehicle club at the University of Pittsburgh, making it the first of its kind. Our mission is to provide a unique hands-on engineering and design experience that will help our members be among the most qualified and competitive students in their field. We specifically strive to provide a unique skillset to prepare our members for careers in sustainable energy fields and the electric vehicle field. Additionally, we strive to further develop sustainable technology in an industry that is currently behind in carbon neutral solutions.
We plan
to continue optimizing our electric race boat nicknamed “Cathy” for greater
efficiency, stability, and speed. Cathy placed third in our inaugural
competition, and we have our sights on a win in the near future! We’ll also
continue developing a second race boat using a C-Stock hydroplane to create the
world’s fastest C-stock electric hydroplane with a top speed of between 70-90
mph!
None of this could be done
without the generous support of our various sponsors and patrons. We truly
appreciate anyone that considers supporting our cause and are extremely excited
to continue to innovate!
