Support the Next Generation of Palliative Care Doctors

When you give to the Palliative Research Center (PaRC) and the Section of Palliative Care and Medical Ethics at Pitt, you are supporting research focused on improving the lives of people living with serious illness and their caregivers. Together, we identify new and better ways to provide serious illness care.

This year, consider donating to PaRC and the Section of Palliative Care and Medical Ethics in support of the Gleitsman Student Diversity in Palliative Care Research Award. This award is designed to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of palliative care by providing mentored research experience and financial support to students between their first and second years of medical school. It was created to address the lack of racial diversity in the field of palliative care and provides an opportunity for students attending medical schools without a palliative care program to learn more about the field.

“The program has significantly impacted my specialty career decision. I now plan to pursue a career in palliative care. After completing the program and shadowing palliative care physicians, I fell in love with the field. I look forward to continuing to resolve gaps within healthcare and improving the quality of patient care.”
