Pitt Day of Giving is here again! This year, the School of Computing and Information (SCI) is laser-focused on increasing our donor count to SCI funds—because more donors like you means greater support for our students, faculty, and programs. Last year, SCI saw incredible generosity from 121 individual donors. This year, we're setting an ambitious goal of reaching 145 donors.

The SCI Donor Challenge: Light Up the Cathedral!

We are bringing back our "Cathy" Donor Thermometer. Watch the floors light up with every milestone we hit! For every 25 new donors we receive during Pitt Day of Giving, another section of the Cathedral of Learning will illuminate, unlocking a fun fact about SCI!

The Donor Unlocking Challenge: Your Gift Goes Further!

Your participation can unlock significant matching funds for SCI! Help us reach these milestones to secure extra support:

 • 50 donors to SCI unlocks a $500 donation from an anonymous alumni donor.

• 75 donors to SCI unlocks a $1,000 donation from the Dean of SCI, Bruce Childers.

• 100 donors to SCI unlocks a $2,000 donation from the Alumni Board.

• 145 donors (Our 2026 Goal!) to SCI unlocks a $2,500 donation from the Board of Visitors.

The SCI Department Challenge!

Like in previous years – the department with the highest number of donors will receive an additional gift of $5,000 from the Board of Visitors.

Every gift, no matter the size, counts toward our donor goal and helps unlock these essential matching funds. Help us reach 145 donors this year!

The Dean’s Impact Priorities

Today, you can magnify the value of your gift by fueling the spark for someone else and stoking the flames that illuminate the endless possibilities of what we can do. These priority funds provide ongoing resources for the most impactful SCI student and school programmatic needs.
